Remote Learning Updates

NEW - Foundation

The Foundation children have been learning about mass, 3D & 2D objects and have been doing some problem solving.  In Religious Education they have been watching a music clip showing Jesus as a superhero and have been asked to say how they can be superheroes to others in need and how others show care towards them, too.

NEW - Year 1s

The Grade 1 children have settled into Home Learning so quickly. This week we are reading the Snail and the Whale by Julie Donaldson, Miss Simpson read it in our Google Meet on Monday. We are excited to see the children Face to Face on Monday and Friday at 11am from now on in Google Meets. The children are sharing fabulous work with us through SeeSaw.

NEW - Year 2s

Well done to all our amazing Grade 2 students. We have been so impressed by their resilience and the work they have been uploading into Google Drive. Thank you also to the families for everything they are doing to support learning at home.

We have had lots of fun exploring surveys and interviews in literacy. We have enjoyed learning more about our students and they have had lots of questions for us too!

In mathematics we have been learning about location and transformation and have been focusing on flips, slides and turns using concrete materials and digital technologies.

For Personal Histories students have been making comparisons between their own experiences and that of an older generation and identifying how they have changed over time. We have begun to focus on the different types of prayer in Religious Education and so far our students have had a go at writing a prayer of thanks.

We had lots of fun dressing up for Book Week and all the kids looked amazing.

Congratulations to our Remote Learning 'Stars of the Week' for uploading every Literacy and Numeracy task last week.

Keep up the great work.

Mr Nilbett, Mrs Dundon and Mrs Vincitorio

NEW - Years 3/4

During Home Learning, Grade 3/4 have been writing poems and exploring the different language features that are used. This week, we are enjoying the process of drafting, writing and publishing a piece of writing based on Andy Griffith's story of Do Not Open This Box. Thanks to Mr Cameron for challenging us to do this! In Maths we have been looking at fractions and decimals and how they are connected. We have enjoyed having specialists this week and seeing our classmates and teachers on our Google Meets!

NEW - Years 5/6

Our 5/6 students enjoyed dressing up for Book Week. Ebony (56DP) dressed up as the Librarian from Monsters University and Kaidyn (56DP) as the Fox from the Dr Suess book Fox in Socks.

During the week students had to create an obstacle courses for PE. Samuel (56DP), Jacob (56ES) and Isabella (56DP) created their obstacle course at school during on-site supervision.

'We had teams and the fastest time won. We all got a creative Olympic medal' - Isabella & Samuel.
