Teaching and Learning

Thankyou!

As we see the end of the term approaching, we would like to sincerely thank all of our families for either, supporting learning from home this term, or supporting their child to be prepared and present to engage in learning onsite.

The staff at Miners Rest K-6 are proud to acknowledge the many learning opportunities provided during our Remote & Flexible Learning Program, including:

  • Daily class meetings to maintain a sense of connectedness
  • Mini-Lessons to allow for explicit teaching of concepts
  • Daily focused teaching groups targeting individual learning needs in the areas of Reading, Writing & Numeracy
  • A daily independent learning program incorporating learning tasks that address the key curriculum areas of Reading, Writing, Numeracy and Integrated Studies
  • Weekly learning experiences that are directly related to our Specialist Curriculum Areas - Visual Arts, Health & Physical Education and STEM
  • Student-led Conferences to celebrate learning achievements and identify learning goals for Term Four.

Classroom teachers have acknowledged work submitted by students and have provided actionable feedback to support further learning in each area.

However, all of this lesson planning and preparation, student learning, work submissions and teacher feedback would not be possible, let alone successful, if we did not have the commitment between home and school. With our strong partnerships between home and school, we have been able to achieve positive results for our students throughout Term Three - thank you!

As we complete the final weeks of Term Three, and move into a well-deserved break for our entire school community, we look forward to being back onsite together throughout Term Four.
