Underneath the Surface...

It is very quiet at school with only a few students and staff this week. If a member of the public was to wander through the grounds, they might think that nothing was happening, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. There is an enormous array of teaching and learning happening, our staff and students are connecting often, and we are also managing to have a few laughs along the way.

As the NSW and Victorian regional lockdown continues, our staff and students will also continue with QDL. Our focus with students has not been just about academic subjects but we have also planned ways for them to connect with teachers and peers. Their social and emotional development and wellbeing are important for learning and for all of us as human beings; we are social creatures.

It is important for students to have a break from the screen of their computer or devices during the day. If they were at school, they would have recess and lunch where they would be active outside.  It is important for parents to ensure that their children take a break, it is also important for parents to take breaks too.

At this stage, there is no further information about changes to regional NSW or Victorian lockdowns. We are keen to have students and staff back at school and we will communicate any possible changes to the October 25th return with families.  We have been told that if regional NSW is released from lockdown prior to 25th October, we can have students return earlier if we remain COVID safe.

Please remember that we are here to help in any way possible, there are always staff at school to take phone calls.

Remember to take a break, enjoy the outdoors, have a laugh and reach out if you need support.
