Shelford Winter Appeal

This term, the Year 11 students are working in small groups to organise the Shelford Winter Appeal. We aim to educate ourselves and our community about homelessness in Australia and more specifically, Victoria. We are currently busy identifying and planning opportunities for all members of the Shelford community to support some of Victoria’s most vulnerable people.

Our teams are planning a Food and Clothing drive, a raffle and awareness programs that will support organisations such as Compass Community Care, Sleeping Bags for Homelessness and St Kilda Mum’s.

Winter Appeal raffle

Our raffle team would like to hear from parents, Shelfordians and other community members who would like to donate a prize for our raffle. All funds raised will assist us in funding sleeping bag packs for rough sleepers across major Australian cities. Sleeping Bags for Homelessness is not only committed to providing warmth in the form of these packs but they focus on supporting the community through ‘comfort, food and friendship’.

If you would like to offer a donation, small or large to our raffle, please contact Ms Lewis slewis@shelford.vic.edu.au.
