Career 4sight Program

Cath Freney, Careers and Future Pathways Coordinator

It has been a busy few weeks in the Careers Department with students in Year 10 and 11 completing their subject selection interviews. The focus now moves onto Year 12, who are applying to tertiary institutions this month through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).

University/TAFE Open Days 2021

Open Days are a great opportunity for students and parents to learn more about offerings at different Universities and TAFE Colleges. They also offer the chance to explore the facilities at each campus. Open Days are held over August and September and we strongly recommend Year 10 and 11 students taking the opportunity to participate in these events as students in Year 12 are often very busy at this time. A summary of the dates for each institution is available in the document below.

Please note that the majority will be virtual due to current COVID restrictions. This does not mean they are not worth attending. They still offer a wealth of information and allow students to do virtual tours and attend online presentations on different courses, often engaging with current students.

Careers Newsletter

Each week students in Years 10–12 are sent a copy of the Compass Careers Newsletter. This newsletter offers a wealth of information on tertiary course options, insights into different careers and alerts students to upcoming events in the careers space. A copy is also being placed on Shelly on the Careers page. Students are strongly advised to read these as they are a wonderful resource for their career path planning. For parents they also provide an insight into different opportunities available for your children.
