VICE PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Mr Hawthorn

We are Back!

There is absolutely no doubt about it, schools are much better places when students are in them. While we would have loved to have had all our wonderful Easties back today, seeing the smiling faces of our Prep to 2 students is definitely a huge step in the right direction. For now, the information that we have from the department is that only Prep-2 students and staff, vulnerable children and children who have been previously been attending as children of authorised workers should be onsite, with all other students continuing remote and flexible learning. When and if we get any new information, we will let families and carers know immediately. Hang in there everybody, with lockdown restrictions easing and only one week to go before holidays, things are beginning to look better.

RUOK? Day

RUOK? In this challenging time, the mental health of our students, staff and families has never been more important. Yesterday marked, RUOK? Day, with students and staff onsite taking the time to discuss the important message of the day. That being, life's ups and downs happen to all of us and chances are someone you know might be struggling. Taking the time to meaningfully ask someone RUOK? can make a difference. Please know that if you or someone you know is battling, there is always someone here at school to talk.

Celebrity Stories

Anyone that follows our Echuca East Facebook will already know what a success our bedtime story series has been. With the introduction of this week’s celebrity guests the series has become more popular. As a school, we would like to say a big thankyou to all of our celebrities for taking the time to support our students in this very challenging time. We would also like to thank the very talented Ms Burke who spends countless hours each week putting these videos together – what a marvel. We still have one more week of our celebrity guests so be sure to stay tuned. If you haven’t seen any yet, get on to our Facebook page and have a look.

Footy Colours Day

It’s that time of year again and the footy finals are in full swing. To finish of what has been a long and challenging term, next Friday will be our annual Footy Colours Day.

Mr Holmfield is planning a jam-packed day for all students, with activities at school for our onsite learners and online competitions to keep our 3-6 students learning remotely entertained. All students are invited to dress up in their favourite teams’ colours for what is sure to be a great day. Good luck this weekend if your team is still alive in the finals and hopefully, you’ll be able to cheer them on with anticipation of a premiership next Friday.

Thankyou Easties

With my time here at East coming to an end at the end of this term, I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thankyou to the entire school community for taking me in and making me feel so welcome in my acting position as Assistant Principal.

Echuca East is a fantastic place to work and learn and I feel very privileged to have been a part of it for the past three terms. With our dedicated teachers, students, families and carers, the future looks bright for Echuca East Primary School.
