Year 7 Boys Regional Soccer Competition
The Year 7 Boys Soccer Team played in the regional round of soccer last Thursday 5 August. All the boys were really positive about the games and represented the school exceptionally well while they were there. In the first game, besides dominating the play, the opposition had 1 chance and scored from it. Missed chances meant they had to win the next 2 games to have a chance at going through to the next round. Game 2 saw the boys dominate and have a convincing 6-1 win. Patrick Small scored a hat trick, as well as a brilliant individual goal starting from the halfway line.
The last game saw us come against an academy team. With tired legs and injuries, the boys struggled to create much play. They ended up going down 5-0 with a primary focus on attacking to try and score. The boys should all be commended on their efforts and behaviour during this tournament and for their commitment to training.
Interschool Girls Netball Competition
On Wednesday 14 July, nine girls represented our school as the A team in the Intermediate Interschool Girls Netball Competition. This event was held at Waverley Netball Centre, where we competed against Brentwood, John Monash, Wheelers Hill and Wellington. Out of our four matches, we won our first match against Wellington. Even though the other schools got ahead of us in our next three matches, we still pushed to improve our game-play, kept up the team work and nevertheless encouraged each other all the way.
Regardless of the losses it was an enjoyable, active day, with some great competition and an admirable effort from all the girls. Also, thanks to Miss Love and Mr Knee, for putting their time and effort towards our team to participate in this event.
