Introduction to the Outdoors – Lower Glenelg River Camp

Students in the Year 9/10 Introduction to the Outdoors class applied what they learnt in class to a practical setting over the 3rd-5th May. They made the journey to the Lower Glenelg River where they hiked along the Great South West Walk and canoed along the river. Students slept in tents and were required to cook their food in the outdoors. On the Thursday the students experienced snorkelling at Ewens Ponds and walked up and around the crater of Australia’s most recent erupting volcano (Mt Schank). It was great to see the students learning valuable life skills outside of the classroom.
