Paul Dillon - Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia

Clemes students will hear from the director and founder of Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia, Paul Dillon on Monday 3 April. Paul will speak to each year group separately, thus it has been necessary to make some adjustments to timetables. Students will be sent the relevant adjustments. Paul will discuss the topics of 'Alcohol and Cannabis: What if Something Goes Wrong?' with the Year 11 students and ‘Last year at school: What do I need to know about alcohol and other drugs?’ with the Year 12 students. Students will participate in a SELT activity and discussion in their Tutor Groups on Thursday 6 April.

Theatre Excursion

Wednesday 5 April

On Wednesday April 5 Year 11 and 12 IB Theatre and TCE Theatre Performance students are booked to see Griffin Theatre Company’s production, Prima Facie, in the Studio Theatre at the Theatre Royal. The Theatre Royal website in describing the show states; “Prima Facie is an indictment of the Australian legal system’s failure to provide reliable pathways to justice for women. It’s a work of fiction, but one that could have been ripped from the headlines of any paper, any day of the week”. Students will travel by bus at 10.30am and return to school by lunch time. The show has a content warning and students will be made aware of the adult themes and strong language prior to attending.

Tammy Giblin, Head of the Arts Faculty.

Theatre Performance Production

We warmly invite all members of the School community to attend the Year 12 Theatre  Performance class’ production of Ryan Enniss’ 2018 play, The 2100 Club.

“What’s your favourite picture? How do you feel about Summer? Do you believe in God? What’s the worst lie you’ve ever told? We’ve all grown up before, or at least we will. We’ve all had heartbreaks and good days and terrible stories to tell in years to come. And sometimes we all need a place to grow up. Welcome to the 2100 Club…” (AustralianPlays.org)

When: Thursday 30 March. Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7pm start, play will finish at approximately 8.15pm.

Where: Bill & Marjorie Oats Drama Theatre, High School Campus

Viewer advice: please note this performance contains some strong language and adult themes.

The performance is free of charge.

For more information, please contact Sophie Hope, Teacher of Drama 7-12.
