Captain's Corner

We hope this newsletter finds you well and that the second term of the school year is off to a great start. Here are some important updates and news items from our school.

It is wonderful to see all the students getting back into the routine connecting with their friends and teachers.

This term we are excited to continue on with our fabulous innovation programs and once again thank you to the teachers for going through the selection process.

In addition, John Monash science school program is going to take place throughout the term, best wishes to all participants . I am also very excited to announce that performing arts is restarting this term in the lead up to our whole school production in August. I am sure it will be a breath-taking performance.

There are also a number of sporting events this term including our school cross country tomorrow, best wishes for all the participants.

Moreover, the year six’s will be participating in both the winter round robin and the soccer round robin, year six’s applications process will commence soon so stay tuned for further details to come. Students can also join the Sports Innovation program (trials only) to play soccer this term. We have also started the basketball tournament good luck to all of the teams participating.

I also wanted to say that the Year 6 incursion (Mad About Science, Earth And Space) held last Friday was fantastic and has had a huge impact on our thought process and assisted us to explore deeper.  As a reminder the following excursions are planned for this term,

  1. Preps to Healesville Sanctuary,
  2. Year 1 Chesterfield farm
  3. Year 2 Ceres
  4. Year 3 Melbourne Museum
  5. Year 5 to Hinkler reserve and the Royal Botanical Gardens,
  6. Year 6 Scienceworks

Please contact your class teacher for further information.

Thanks for reading and hope you have a great term.
