MOTHERS DAY AFTERNOON

We wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who joined us last Friday afternoon to celebrate Mother's Day with your children. It was an absolute delight to see our school buzzing with excitement and filled with countless smiles. Your presence made the afternoon incredibly special, and the joy and love in the air were simply contagious. We are so thankful for the vibrant community we have, and your participation made it even more extraordinary.

THANK YOU TO OUR OPPS PARENTS & FRIENDS GROUP

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible members of our Parents and Friends group for their outstanding efforts in organizing the Mother's Day stall for our students. Once again, you have surpassed all expectations! The stall was an absolute hit, and our students had a blast visiting and carefully selecting special gifts for their mums and special people. The joy and excitement were palpable in the air. We sincerely hope that all of our mums and special people had an extraordinary Mother's Day, feeling truly spoiled by the thoughtful gifts handpicked by their children.

Get your thinking caps on and gather your friends for a night of brain-teasing fun! Our Parents and Friends Group is thrilled to announce the upcoming Trivia Night on Friday, June 16th. But hey, this event is for our grown-up pals only, so get ready to leave the kiddos behind and let your hair down!

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE DAY - NO STUDENTS REQUIRED AT SCHOOL

On Friday 2nd June, staff at OPPS will be participating in their first Professional Practice Day for 2023. Teachers have 2 of these days as part of the teacher agreement to further develop their teacher practice. For this day, our whole staff are going to spend time in the morning refining our practices around moderating and assessing student writing samples, before using the remainder of the day to explore areas of individual and team focus. No students are required at school on this day. Full day care will be available through OSHC program.

CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR WET DAYS

With the rainy season upon us, it's time to embrace the splashy adventures that come with it! We know how much fun our little ones have playing on the oval and grassed areas during break times. However, it's no secret that sometimes those grass stains and unexpected puddles can catch us off guard. To make sure our students can dive into their learning without any soggy setbacks, we have a small favour to ask. If your child loves to play on the oval or grassed areas, please consider packing a spare pair of clothes in their bag including a pair of dry socks. By having these rainy-day essentials ready to go, we can help them quickly change and keep the learning train chugging along without having to disturb your busy day.

NEWSPAPER DONATIONS

Our STEM and Art room are on the lookout for newspaper donations, and we need your help! Newspapers are an invaluable resource for a range of hands-on projects and creative endeavours. From constructing sturdy structures in our engineering challenges to lining the tables for our painting activities, newspapers play a crucial role in fostering students' curiosity and innovation. If you have any spare newspapers lying around at home, we would greatly appreciate your contribution. Simply send them in with your child to school, and they will be put to excellent use in our dynamic and engaging STEM and art activities. Thank you in advance for supporting our students' exploration and learning!
