Yr 7 camp

Students along with 12 staff headed off to Don Bosco in Safety Beach on Tuesday 13th September for their 3-day camp. Whilst it wasn’t summer weather, the students all had an extremely enjoyable time, participating in activities designed to further strengthen friendships but also which allowed them to spend time and get to know other students, with whom they had not as yet forged a connection with.

The activities were also designed to challenge the students, take them out of their comfort zones a little and build some resilience as well as their problem-solving skills. The activities included mountain bike riding, sea kayaking, a bush walk with the focus on Aboriginal artefacts & medicinal plants, games with the Camp Leaders, a visit to the Enchanted Adventure Garden with a grand tree surfing session, a visit and exploration of the Moonlit Sanctuary, a Trivia night and a Movie night.

I would like to acknowledge and thank all staff who attended and, in particular, Year 7 Wellbeing Leader, Ms. Amelia Bongetti for her meticulous organisation and planning to ensure the camp went off without a hitch. For 2023, we have reverted back to our original booking time in February.
