Wellbeing

Positive Behaviours for Learning Focus

Our actions affect other people, if we are too close to someone they may feel uncomfortable & unsafe.

Over the next 3 weeks each learning group will be focussing on the following expectations from our PBL Matrix. These will be explicitly taught during Wellbeing Hour & revisited throughout the days.

It would be great if you could also reinforce these expectations at home and ask your child/children how they are following these at school.

At OLSC we shine when we show:

Respect:

  • We are aware of the personal space of others
  • We are patient

Responsibility

  • We take ownership of our choices

Resilience:

  • We always try our best
  • We learn from our mistakes.

Student Leaders News

Mascot Competition

Congratulations to Isabelle in Year 3/4 for winning our Mascot competition.

Multicultural Garden Update

We are very excited to announce that Gustavo has completed our Mural titled

' We are one, but we are many'

and it looks amazing.

Last Tuesday was a hive of activity and a buzz of excitement as our student leaders planted our multicultural garden. A huge thank you to Sarena, a parent at OLSC & Sue, one of our LSO's at OLSC who worked with us sharing their gardening expertise & helping us plant. We enjoyed every minute getting dirty & watching our ideas & vision for this garden come to life. Thank you must go to Wyndham Council & their Habitat Hero's program which enabled us to get 50 plants native to the Wyndham area and to All Green nursery who assisted us in sourcing plants from other countries that grow in this area. We ended up creating two garden's with the number of plants we were lucky to have.  Our challenge now is to nurture & water our garden to help our plants grow. Check out the photos to see the finished product.

We will officially open our Garden as part of our Multicultural Day celebrations on Friday October 21st .

Multicultural Day

We are excited to be able to have our whole school Multicultural Day on Friday, 21st October.  Our theme for the day is 'We are one but we are many' and will be a celebration of the many diverse cultures within our school community.

Throughout the day the students will be involved in an incursion and many workshops to celebrate & learn about who we are as a community.

To begin our day we are having a whole school assembly in the Sports Centre starting at 9am . All families are welcome & invited to attend.

As wellbeing leader I am available to all students & families.  Feel free to email me at: shenderson@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au or the call the school office if you have any concerns or need help at any time.

Cheers

Sandy
