Year 12 Celebration Week

Andrea Grear, Head of Senior School, South Plympton Campus Principal

Last week, our Year 12s celebrated their final week of school, before exams.

On Monday Home Groups spent their last lesson together with a shared lunch, and offered some final words of advice to their fellow home ‘groupees’.

On Tuesday and Thursday the Year 12s competed against their teachers in lunchtime matches. There were lots of laughs and friendly rivalry at the staff v student Ultimate Frisbee and Dodgeball matches. They were made even more interesting by wet and slippery conditions.

Wednesday morning's cooked breakfast was a great way to start the Dress Up Day with the theme of ’Heroes and Villains’. The student's outfits and creative efforts were impressive ranging from the lovely to the scary.

Thursday evening was the annual Year 12 Staff and Student Dinner at the Highway which was a lovely time to share fond memories and a few laughs.

Finally, Friday was the Final Assembly where parents came along to share in this momentous and emotional occasion. This was made even more special after two years of COVID restrictions.

It has been a wonderful week of appreciating our Year 12 students and encouraging them as they finish their secondary schooling. The students were exemplary in their behaviour and attitude, making it a really enjoyable week.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff, parents and students who were involved in making the week such a great way to conclude school.
