"Dumesny Dollars"

MINI - ECONOMY - IN - ACTION

I just wanted to share something positive on a dreary September day as we move closer to holiday-mode. This morning I had the pleasure of witnessing a mini-economy in action as students redeemed their Dumesny Dollars for prizes, reminiscent of cashing in your tickets at TimeZone for a sticky hand or a dodgy plush toy. Dumesny Dollars have been accumulating across the semester, in recognition of displays of school values within the class. Students made the choice to spend or bank their hard-earned dollars today, and if they were a few dollars short for a prize, they could take out a loan and put themselves into Dumesny Debt, which incurred an interest rate of one bucket of rubbish collected per 5 Dumesny Dollars.

Gabi put a power of work into developing a really positive environment within her class in line with our SWPB values, as well as curating a catalogue of prizes at different value points and interests. And I think I’ve developed semantic satiation for Dumesny anything in writing this!

Well done, Gab!
