Magis report

Magis is the Latin word meaning 'more; to a greater extent,' and is one of the core principles of an Ignatian education and the tradition on which our founding orders, the Jesuits and the Loreto sisters, are based.
It was wonderful to see so many of our students embody the Magis spirit this week, as they attended the WADL Debating Development Seminars held at Shenton College over the weekend and our own College based seminar which was held on Tuesday. These seminars are specifically designed to advance student’s critical thinking and debating skills.
The 2023 WADL SDC Draw has been finalised. A reminder that students and parents can access fixtures via the SDC Draw App. Teams have received their debating topics and are busy brainstorming arguments in preparation for Round 1.
A big week, next week with Team meetings for WADL SDC Debating, World Scholars and Da Vinci Decathlon. We also wish our Mock Trials team best of luck with Round 1 of the Law Society of Western Australia Mock Trial Competition. We look forward to hearing about their criminal trial in next week’s newsletter.
