Color Run

Dear Parents, Teachers and Families,

Thank you to everyone who got involved in fundraising for our school and those who volunteered their time at the Colour Fun Run on Thursday, March 30.

The event was a huge success thanks to all your amazing effort. Special thanks to the devoted parents from the Fundraising and Parents and Friends Teams who contributed much of their time. Your efforts behind the scenes to create this event were immeasurable!

It was fantastic to see the spirit and enthusiasm that was displayed by the students, teachers and families in supporting our school for this fundraising event. The true highlight was the smiles on the student’s faces as they ran. But the ‘wow factor’ was in what we all achieved together. We raised 19,061.44  for our school. This is an incredible amount, well done to everyone. The students’ prizes will arrive in a few weeks and will be distributed next term.

The enormous smiles and laughter of the students, teachers and parents at the event were a joy to see.  Some parent volunteers ended up in more colour than the students did. Many students loved being splashed with colour powder and squirted with water pistols as they raced around the oval. They ran so quickly that our event finished earlier than expected.

Apologies to parents who had signed up to help at a later time slot only to find they weren’t needed, and to parents who attended to find their children had already raced.

The joy these events bring for our students helps create some of their ‘best memories’ at school.

Thanks also to the Grade 6 teachers and students for having a Colour Run Course Design Competition to help us create the course the students ran. There were some fantastic designs:

  • some with lots of colour stations and dodgeball games to throw the colour.
  • Many with fun ideas like slime pits, hoops, hurdles, trampolines, tyres, and hopscotch.
  • Some great run-path designs, with G- shaped and C-shaped tracks (which were replicated), star-shaped tracks and circular tracks.
  • One design included rules for the event of “No Arguing, sabotaging or pushing”.

There were so many great designs for us to incorporate into the run track and it was very difficult to choose just one. In the end, the winning team of the Grade 6 Colour Fun Run course design went to CLAIRE AND MARCUS.

Well done to all Grade 6’s for providing your ideas and inspiration.

Our most sincere thanks to the whole school community for your support and fundraising efforts.

We could not have done it without you.
