Performing Arts Highlights!

Year Prep 

The Prep Communities have begun to participate in various dance lessons for Performing Arts. They have been learning how to move safely in the space and create different shapes with their bodies to show low, medium and high levels. Students explored and expressed movement ideas using props such as wrist ribbons and scarves.

Year 1/2

The Year 1/2 Communities have begun to participate in various dance lessons for Performing Arts. They have been learning about different social dances from around the world from countries such as Turkey, Australia and Pakistan. Students practiced the skill of improvising dance with a partner to express different dance styles. 

Year 3/4

The Year 3/4 Communities have been exploring an introduction to Drama in Performing Arts. They have learned to bring still images to life using facial expression, voice and movement. Students have started to explore movement using mime and perform different character lines to match the acting situation. We have started auditioning singers to perform the Year 3-6 Community Expectations song at assembly.

Year 5/6

The Year 5/6 Community have been exploring an introduction to Drama in Performing Arts. They have been continuing to express freeze frames to act out different situations and improvise using the elements of drama: voice, movement, relationships and focus. Students have started to develop voice techniques to speak with expression when acting out scenes. We have started auditioning singers to perform the Year 3-6 Community Expectations song at assembly.
