Our HASS topics this term have been ourselves, emotions/feelings, and families.
In Ourselves, we are looking at our history and how we have changed and what we can do now that we are in Pre-primary, and what we will be able to do when we are older like our mum and our dad.
In emotions, we have been focussing on very big emotions and are learning to identify these emotions using bigger words other than sad and happy. Here are a few pictures of us depicting these emotions.
We have been talking about how families can be the same and they can be different. Please find attached our family stone portraits
We are busy learning the sounds of the letters and have begun our reading journey. Here we are learning to sound out some very simple words. We are awesome at this.
Our favourite stories so far have been Cass the Colour Robber, The bad tempered ladybird and Mr McFarr’s Clunker car. We hope you like our illustrations.
We have been very busy this term in Room 15!
In Maths, we have been doing lots of hands-on activities where we are recognising numbers, counting and making collections and recognising collections of numbers represented different ways. We have also been learning all the different ways to make 5.
In Maths we have also been learning about 2-dimensional shapes. It was lots fun making shapes in different ways.
We have been participating in lots of teamwork activities. One of our favourite tasks was completing a giant transient art. We realised that we would need to work as a team to complete the artwork. It was lots more fun doing it together and impossible for just one or two people to finish on their own.
Mrs Coleman invited us to the music room to learn the songs for Harmony Day. We enjoyed seeing our friends from Room 14 there as well. Thanks for the invitation Mrs Coleman!
