Some babies have arrived!
We are delighted to let our school community know that Kristy Dixon and Karen Hunsdale have both had their babies in the last fortnight. We welcome Kai Dixon and Fredrick Hunsdale to the world, and can't wait to see them here for a visit soon. Congratulations Karen and Kristy!
New Zebra Crossing
Over the long weekend James, Jordan's dad, came and painted a permanent zebra crossing on our driveway. James reassures me that this will never need repainting, well at least not in my time! Thank you James for this work, it is much appreciated.

There is still one place available for the parent community. Please call in at the office, or send an email if you are interested in being part of our School Council.
Badge Presentation Ceremony
At our whole school assembly on 24 March, we will be celebrating leadership roles across the school with a Badge Ceremony. Our Junior School Councillors, Enviro Squad representatives, Grade 6 House Captains and other leadership roles will be presented. Parents are invited to join us for this assembly and then a morning tea afterwards in the hall.
Easter Raffle
Every year we raffle off hampers of donated Easter eggs, to our school community. We are again collecting Easter Eggs for our hampers and have sent home the raffle tickets for you to sell to neighbours and family. When you are out shopping over the weekend, pick up an Easter treat for our hampers and send it along to school ready for the big draw on Thursday 6 April.
Harmony Week
Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At Mullum Primary we are celebrating Harmony Week on Wednesday 29 March with a morning of activities and celebrations of our diverse school community. Children are invited to wear a touch of orange (the colour of harmony), or wear traditional cultural clothes.
We are also calling on families to come and share a game, song or dance from your culture that would expand our knowledge and appreciation of others. Please let your child's teacher know if you would like to come along and share with your child's class.
Thank you to the families that have already returned their hexagon of their family background. Please keep these coming in to school. We would like one from every family on display for our Harmony Day activities.
Brick Pavers
You may have noticed other brick pavers around the school, near the office and library stairs. These pavers were made in 1988 for the 25th Anniversary of the school. To this day, we have families come onto the school ground looking for the paver they made when they were in school. We are again inviting our families to contribute a paver to the school to commemorate our 60th Anniversary in 2023. The pavers will form part of a new courtyard and quiet play space that we are creating in the footprint of the old school. The fundraiser is running for a couple more weeks still. If you have misplaced your forms, please call in at the office or ring for one to be sent home. Here are some examples of pavers already in the school:
Super Hero Dress Up Day
To celebrate our upcoming production we are having a Super Hero Dress Up Day on Thursday 6 April, the final day of the school term, gold coin donation. Come dressed in your finest cape and join in the fun.
Volunteering at Mullum Primary School
We love it when our parents are able to volunteer for activities across the school that support all students to achieve. There are many benefits to volunteering in your child's school, not only do your children enjoy seeing you in the school, but it also provides opportunity for you to get to know other families, teachers and staff and make a contribution to the whole school. Kelli Heriot, in the office, has compiled a list of many of the activities that we have across the school where volunteers are needed. Kelli has offered to meet with any person in our community who would like to volunteer for a task, a regular activity or a special event. If you are interested pop along to the office and have a chat with her.
Foundation 2024
Each Tuesday and Friday I am conducting group tours for prospective families in our community who are interested in hearing about our programs and seeing our students in action. Today I had the pleasure of taking a group of our playgroup families around to see the classrooms and talk about the learning opportunities here. We have a couple of events coming up that you may be interested in, if you have a child starting in 2024:
Please call ahead to the office to book either, or both, of these events.
Student-led Walk Throughs
Our Student-Led Walk Throughs are coming up on Tuesday 4 April. Each year in April and September our students invite you, their parents, to a walk through of their classroom to look through student work, play some classroom games,
