From Garden 


to Plate

This week at Sacred heart I had the privilege of working with some students to begin a new program called From garden to Plate. The students had an amazing time experiencing our school garden and what it has to offer. At the moment we have basil, beetroot, corn, mint and parsley growing in our garden. The students worked collaboratively to take out any summer veggies and weeds to get our garden beds ready for the new autumn crop. 

In the Kitchen, the students used some of our very own basil to make delicious pizzas with a homemade tomato and basil sauce and grated parmesan cheese.  It was a huge success! Their minds were 'blown' by the taste of the sauce!
