From the Principal
Over the past few weeks, I have had the enjoyable task of moving in and out of classrooms and witnessing a lot of fantastic learning moments. The quality of these learning opportunities is evident of the importance our teachers place on preparation, collaboration and engagement. Our teachers set high expectations for their teaching in relation to Student Achievement, Engagement and Wellbeing and this has been evident in student results and their personal growth.
I wanted to share how proud we are of our students, their teachers and all of our wonderful staff for their dedication and commitment to learning, the college and our community.
I would encourage every parent to sit down with their young person(s) and read the student reports together, highlight their achievements, identify areas for improvement for Semester 2 and ask them to set personal goals and take greater ownership of their learning.
Respect
Respect is more than being polite, or showing care towards someone or something that is considered important.
Respect is the ability to be inclusive, listen, develop understanding and acknowledge our differences as a positive outcome, not a negative one.
Our students have demonstrated and embraced the importance of acknowledging this difference and the opportunity it provides to grow, thrive and empower others to believe in themselves.
Respect allows our college values to thrive because it is everyone’s Responsibility to do their Personal Best to be inclusive and build a strong Sense of Community.
As a College and a community, we are proud to be a diverse and inclusive community. But, we can always do more!
Remember, respect is more than a simple definition!
Stay safe over the term break!
