PAT-Reading and PAT-Maths

It was terrific to see the students in Year 7-10 completing their PAT Reading and Maths assessments in their English and Maths classes this term.  This assessment provides immediate data and information to the classroom teacher and assists them to plan for your child.

Our classrooms are looking very busy at the moment with students completing their CATs, SACs and exams. This exposure to exams for our students will ensure that when they are ready to sit Year 12 exams students will know the procedures and will have prior experiences that they can draw from. It has been pleasing to see the effort that our Year 10 and Year 11 students are putting into their exams.

Our Student Effort Assessment (SEA) reports are now available on Compass. Please use this information to track student attitude and effort over time and to set goals for the future.  If you have any concerns or queries please contact your child’s teacher or their House Leader.

Our end of Semester Reports will be released on Compass on the last day of term, Friday 24 June.  These provide a standard against the Victorian Curriculum based on the work that your child has been completing in their classes and the work that they have completed on their CATs.

When viewing these results please remember that our students have had varied experiences and engagement with their learning due to COVID over the last two years and illnesses this semester. While some students have thrived others’ have struggled; remembering that all of our students have done their best is very important.  If you have concerns or queries around your child’s progress please contact their teacher or House Leader.

As we have finally come together on one site it has been fantastic to see our students engaged in their learning in their classrooms.  The work that our teachers have completed in developing engaging curriculum is apparent in every classroom that I visit – across our college we see consistency in what our students are being offered and engagement in their learning.

Terrific work from everyone involved!

Languages Update

Year 7s are currently being asked to preference their language choice going forward from Semester 2, 2022 through to the end of Year 8, 2023.  All students in Year 7 will be asked to complete a short survey during their class time in Week 9.  If your student is unable to attend school on these days a link will be sent to them in Teams.

This decision has been made due to families being unable to return their language selections at the end of 2021.  It is believed that this is a timely opportunity for change as they have had a language experience this Semester and changes now will still allow the students to meet the Victorian Curriculum Standards.

It is important that students make a deliberate choice for both their first and second preference as all efforts will be made to ensure students receive one of their top two choices.
