Stars

Congratulations to this edition's stars! These students have been nominated by one or more of their teachers and we are proud to acknowledge the way in which they act according to our school values.

Year 7

Lily Quaggin is impressing many of her teachers. In particular, Mr Holland and Mrs Morley nominated her for a star award. Mr Holland nominated Lily for the way she approaches her work in Mathematics. She completes extension work and always makes sure she is up-to-date. As her year level manager, Mrs Morley commented on Lily’s positive attitude and the way she interacts with her peers and teachers. Lily was part of the recent music concert and is making the most our of her time at HHS. Well done, Lily!

Year 7

Georgia Willemsen is a much-respected member of the Year 7 cohort. Her friends know her as being kind and her teachers know her for trying her best and making the classroom environment a better place. Mr Skewes was impressed when Georgia sought assistance for an injured student on the oval and the way in which she did this. Congratulations, Georgia, we love seeing your smiling face at HHS.

Year 8

Denzel Parsons is an all-rounder, as shown by his superb running at the recent athletics carnival, his work ethic in class and the way he interacts with his peers. Mr Holland nominated Denzel for his work in Health and Physical Education and also his work in the Mathematics extension program. Denzel’s leadership was on display when he recently helped out at several primary school sport events. Nice work, Denzel!

Year 9

Aemelia Stevenson always looks for opportunities to involve herself in school life, particularly if it involves sport. Mrs Mitchell nominated Aemelia for her general approach to school. This year alone, she has competed in district swimming, cross country (where she made it through to the next level), netball and football. She will also represent HHS in the upcoming district athletics. In addition to this, Aemelia is a joy to teach. She is considerate, diligent and respectful of those around her. Well done, Aemelia!

Year 11

Chris Visolit has consistently impressed his numeracy teacher, Mr Ned. On two occasions this year, Mr Ned has nominated Chris for a star award. Mr Ned believes Chris behaves in an exemplary manner, he puts in the required effort and he completes all numeracy tasks on time and to a high standard. Well done, Chris, that’s what we like to see from our senior students.
