Principal's Notes

Hello everyone

Welcome to this edition of ‘Healesville High Connections’. Are we close enough to the end of term two to call it the ‘end of term’ edition?

You will find hours of interesting reading in this edition and may I thank all writers for their contributions. We have so many reasons to be proud of our school community, and it is always heartening to read of the achievements of students AND staff.

Congratulations to this week’s stars – Lily, Georgia, Denzel, Aemelia and Chris. Each of you should be so proud of your nomination. We are certainly proud of you.

This edition really highlights how school activities, both curricular and extra-curricular are returning to full operation. There are glowing reports of successes and activities in the classroom as well as entertaining descriptions of extra-curricular events such as student leadership at primary school sports, outdoor education and instrumental music camps, interschool football and netball and our annual athletics carnival.

COVID and seasonal illnesses such as influenza are still impacting attendance at school for students and staff, and we are maintaining a very strong focus upon hygiene, COVID-safe practices, and individual and collective wellbeing. At the same time, we are doing all we can to offer the full range of school experiences to all students and I believe this edition of ‘Connections’ demonstrates how extensively those experiences are being offered. Thank you to staff and students for all that is being achieved, both in class and out.

As always, thank you to those individuals willing to participate in the ‘five questions’ section. It’s always interesting to learn a little more about members of our school community. It was good to read about the ladies who ensure we have such a wonderful school cafeteria, Jo and Elissa and thanks also to Chloee, Zaine, Logan and Lucas for your involvement.

Thank you to all members of our school community for contributing to the successes of our school this term (and this year).  Best wishes for the remainder of term two and best wishes for an enjoyable and well-deserved upcoming winter break.

Please enjoy this newsletter.
