There will be no Breakfast Club on the Tuesday morning, however Breakfast Club will return on the Friday 15th July. Thank you to parents who have recently made donations to our Breakfast Club program.

Pyjama Day

It was terrific to see so many of our students and staff in their pyjamas yesterrday, the weather was perfect for a cosy day in oodies and slippers!

As chosen by our Student Representative Council (SRC), students who participated donated a cold coin, which will be passed on to support the Royal Children's Hospital (Melbourne).  In total, we raised  $642!  Thank you everyone for a fun day and for your donations, on behalf of the SRC.

Term 3 - Student Free Day

On Monday, I learned that the Department of Education and Training has provided schools with the further option to hold each teacher’s allocated professional practice day on the same day for all staff, similar to what occured during this term. This is to enable the most effective and efficient use of this day.

As a result, we have scheduled our professional practice day for Monday 8th August, Students will therefore not be required to attend school on this day.  Team Kids will operate on this day.

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge Update

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge up and running and we encourage you to log in to the portal or hand your lists to your classroom teacher. We would love to hand out as many participation certificates as possible to reward all our student’s hard work. The Challenge ends on the 2nd of September. There is still plenty of time left to get reading! Children from Foundation to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their teachers in class. Children from Year 3 to Year 6 are challenged to read 15 books at home. All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers.

Staffing News

Sadly, we say goodbye to Ms Watson our music teacher who is finishing at Clyde Primary School over the school holiday period. We have advertised a music teacher position and have our fingers crossed for a successful candidate.

And the wait is over.... Ms Kellie Davis and partner James have welcomed baby, Matilda, on Tuesday evening. We are thrilled for Ms Davis and her family.

Book Week- Save the Date

Our annual Book Week Parade, will be held on Tuesday, 30 August at 9:15am. We encourage all of our students to dress up as their favourite book character. Both students and staff will have a parade to celebrate their wonderful costumes.

We will also have an open session from 2:45 to 3:30 pm on the same day for families to come into classrooms and experience book themed activity. More information on this day will come next term but you may wish to start looking for your costume during the school holidays.
