RU Ok? Day Celebrations Thursday 8th September

It’s the national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, ‘are you OK?’ and start a meaningful conversation whenever they spot the signs that someone they care about might be struggling with life. So to highlight the importance of this day we will be hosting a number of events at school on this day.

Students will be encouraged to wear a splash of yellow to help emphasise just how important it is to check in on your mates by asking the simple question of R U Ok? (Examples of a splash of yellow could be yellow socks, hair ribbons, scrunchies, nail polish or headbands).

At recess there will be cupcakes and sugar cookies available for sale to all students. The lunchtime activities will include a Basketball Tournament and there will be a sausage sizzle and soft drinks to purchase for lunch for the secondary students. The school band will be belting out their tunes and in the library there will be board games and mindfulness colouring activities. Students will undertake some activities throughout the day to raise their awareness of how to ask a friend if they are ok!
