Hello Parents and Caregivers

We have had another busy fortnight since our last newsletter with many events and activities happening in our school.

I would like to wish all of our fathers a very happy Fathers’ Day for Sunday! I hope you have a great day!

Please remember this Friday, 2nd September is a Student Free Day.

Eisteddfod

Congratulations to our strings, bands and choirs who performed exceptionally well over the past few weeks at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. Thank-you to Miss Carter, Mrs Chandler and Miss Kesting for their hard work getting our students ready for these performances. Thank you also to the staff who attended eisteddfod to assist with organising our students.

Also, a big thank-you to the parents and caregivers of these students for assisting with the hours of practice required and coming along to Eisteddfod to support your kids and our ensembles.

The students performed very well and were excellent representatives of our school.

We achieved the following results:

Strings: Silver

Junior Band: Silver and 3rd place

Senior Band: Silver

Junior Choir: Gold and 3rd place

Senior Choir: Gold and 2nd place

Book Week

Last week we celebrated Book Week. This year’s theme was Dreaming with eyes open. It was a fantastic week with activities on everyday including our book week parade, bookmark making, reading outside at lunchtime and culminating with the production of the ‘Stellaphant’.

The students enjoyed the week tremendously and there was great excitement across our school.

A massive thank-you to Mrs Burrage and Mrs Kaiser for organising our Book Week activities. They did an amazing job!

Student Achievement

Congratulations to Maddie Dunemann in Year 6 who has made the 12 Years Girls Queensland Touch Team. This is a huge achievement! Maddie will represent Queensland at the National Championships in Wagga Wagga in October. We wish her the very best!

Year 6 Camp

This week our Year 6 students attended camp at Noosa Habitat. Students enjoyed a range of activities and had an amazing time. A big thank-you to our staff who spent time away from their loved ones to give our students this opportunity.
