Our Girls Make the State Championships!

Our Under 14 Girl’s Rugby League team have made it through to the 2022 Cameron Smith & Cameron Munster Shield State Finals.   This final will be played on Thursday 8th September 2022 @ Anderson Reserve, Broadmeadows. Our girls are up against our arch-rival (The Grange) on Field 1 at 10.00 am. 

We have had a team meeting this week (16/08) and discussed how this is a real opportunity to build the ability to handle the pressure and seize the opportunity to challenge ourselves and realise our full potential.   

As a team, we have committed to training at lunchtime on Wednesday’s and Friday’s leading up to the game.  We learned some important lessons from our last outing, and we have committed to working hard on improving our skills that need to be used during the game including changing pace and direction whilst staying balanced. This is especially important to counter head clashes and body injuries before contact situations. We will be working on ways to incorporate multi-directional running, ball handling skills and improving our tackling technique.    

Staughton will be taking lots of photos of the day and building a video for our planned Rugby League presentation.  There may be some photos and drone footage from the event published on the NRL website.
