ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

NAPLAN 

Victorian NAPLAN results were published this week and once again our students have excelled. Results show that we are not only matching it with the best schools in our Loddon-Campaspe network, but we are up with the very best in the state. Our teachers work so hard to ensure our students receive responsive point of need teaching and these results are a fantastic recognition of the effort our staff put into improving the outcomes of our students. The results also assure us that the work we are putting into improving teaching and learning at East, is the right work. Individual student reports will be sent home next week so keep an eye out. I encourage you to read through the report with your child and celebrate the great work they are putting in at school each day. Secondary schools will often ask for this report upon enrolment so it might pay to keep it in a safe place. If you have any questions about the report or your child’s NAPLAN results in general, please get in touch with me or your child’s teacher. Congratulations Easties, you have once again given it your all and we couldn’t be prouder. 

Hands on Learning 

The Hands on Learning team took things to a new level this week as they opened their first trail café. The team have been busy crafting their skills over the past 8 weeks and yesterday was an opportunity to put some of these skills into practice. The café was open to staff and received rave reviews, not only for the delicious food, but the A-grade service that went with it. The team will open the trial café again next Thursday with bigger and better things on the cards for Term 4. Stay tuned for more information. 

Fathers’ Day Lunch

It was wonderful to see so many of our dads and special people here for our Fathers’ Day Lunch today. It was a great turn out and highlighted what an amazing community we are part of here at Echuca East. Many of our Dads and special people don’t always get the time to come into school, so to have them here today was extra special. There was plenty of games and activities, and of course there were presents galore. Have a great weekend everyone and be sure to look after your dad.
