Wilson 'Play is the Way'

The Engagement and Well-being team have been looking at attendance this term and have created a new attendance policy which will be amended and implemented in the coming weeks. We all know the importance of student's attending school as much as possible, as well as the difficulties these last couple of years have placed on regular attendance as we try to keep our children home when they are a bit under the weather, when we might have sent them in the past. Not to mention the almost ubiquitous week of Covid isolation most of us have had.

Under normal circumstances a goal of 90% attendance is what we should be aiming for. We know that when a child's attendance falls below this mark, the learning they miss can negatively effect their progress.

If you're concerned your child's attendance might be slipping below that 90% mark, you can check on Sentral to see how they're tracking. I've attached some pictures to show you where to look. That week at home as a close contact before the rules changed cost Alexandra 90% in term 1.
