Hello, from PE

News from PE-  Ms. Laura Hicks.

Students in grades F-2 have been working hard in P.E over the past few weeks to improve their ball bouncing skills. We have had our Foundation students work really hard to control the basketball and get it to bounce back up to our hip height. Students in Grade 1 and 2 have been working on dribbling and controlling the ball when walking and running. Our Grade 1/2 students were even able to play a modified basketball game.

Students in Grades 3-6 have had a great mix of games and skills over the past weeks. We focused on traditional games one week, which introduced some new skills and games to students. We have also improved our AFL skills with minor games which involved both handballing and kicking the football.  This week in P.E students will be playing games they have created themselves. Students have had to create a minor game in small groups that they will then play with the class. This has given the students an opportunity to be creative with their own game but also focus on rules and participation in P.E.

Division Athletics

Next week we will have 11 students represent BVSPS at the Division Athletics at the Bendigo Athletics Track. It is a great achievement to progress this far and we wish those students the best of luck in their events.
