In The Spotlight

Mick Armstrong (PE Teacher)

G’day, I am Mick Armstrong, the Physical Education Teacher at OGPS.  I have been in the game for 16 years now, with much of my time teaching PE spent in the UK, where I lived and worked for almost a decade.  My wife is English, we were married on the Greek island of Paros in 2019, we have a six-month-old named Miles and a Spoodle named Hendricks.  I enjoy all things sport; I still play cricket (at Torquay), am a coach for the School Sport Victoria U12 Team and a massive Richmond Tigers supporter (some might say over the top passionate in fact eg. I flew back to Melbourne for the 2017 Grand Final from London, returning and back at work Monday morning! That was a great weekend!)  I enjoy traveling, cooking, a good binge of a TV show and being active and spending time with my family and friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 7-8 weeks at OGPS, I have been made to feel very welcome and am enjoying getting to know all the staff, students, and wider community, and look forward to the remainder of the year!

Lara Field (Business Manager)

I’ve been working at OGPS for a year now.  I’m loving being in a primary school setting again and especially loved dressing up last Friday as a pirate for Book Week.

When I’m not at school I enjoy getting outside, gardening or going away camping.  I have a 4WD car and offroad caravan so I can get off the beaten track, in the last holidays I went to The Flinders Ranges and onto the Strzelecki Track in South Australia. I have three grown up children, five grown up step-children and 10 grandchildren, which keep me busy.
