Reports and Interviews

Report and interviews can be a highly anxious time for young children, so it is important to talk about the achievement level that your child receives, and what went into those achievement levels. It is important to remember that your child's progress in school is a on-going process.

Report show where a student stands at one point in time. A report  is intended to help you see where your children are succeeding in school, and where they need some help. It's a starting point for a discussion between you and your children about their schooling.

A child's report can bring feelings of joy, excitement, and pride; it can also cause concern, frustration, and uncertainty. In either case, the reporting period marks a new beginning to set goals as well as reflect on past work habits, achievements, and hardships. Most important, it is a time for parents to communicate with their children and their teacher to determine a path for future academic enrichment and social/emotional growth.

Future Canteen Service

At the Governing Council meeting on Monday night the main agenda item was the Topshop. Governing Council is committed to involving the school community in any future planning to ensure we are able to provide a service that meets the school community needs. To facilitate this, Governing Council would like to invite community members to attend the next Governing Council meeting. This will be an opportunity to put forward ideas and discuss possible future models:

As a temporary option during the consultation and planning process we will be offering a lunch order service through Vilis. This will occur on Monday and Friday. Students need to bring their lunch orders to class as per the previous process. If you require order bags please see the Front Office. Please see below for the Villis menu.

Lost Property

The Front Office has a large box of lost property.  These items will be disposed of at the end of the term.  If you are missing any items please come and have a look.

Items include 3 pairs of prescription glasses, a scooter, many drink bottles, jackets, jumpers, hats.  All these items are unnamed.

Reminder – can you please place a name on your children’s belongings and we are happy to return.

Nepal - Sponsored Walk

Following our Sponsored Walk for Nepal earlier this term, our students have raised an amazing $9403.40 (@30th June). This really is an outstanding amount of money and will go a long way towards helping the people of Nepal.

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to all of our students for walking and for collecting this magnificent amount and also to our families, friends and colleagues for contributing to this total.

Early in Term 3, the Torrens Student Council will organise the distribution of this sponsor money across three charities - Oxfam Australia, Unicef and a link to a school that suffered devastation in Nepal.

If there is any more sponsor money to be collected, please collect and return to the office by the end of this week. It would be awesome to reach $10,000!

ENROLMENTS 2016

We are now looking at our enrolment numbers for 2016. To help this process run smoothly,

if you have siblings starting next year and have not yet completed an enrolment form please see the Front Office staff. If you know of families in or out of zone who are looking to enrol, please urge them to contact us about the enrolment process. This will enable us to determine how many families, who reside out of zone, can be offered a position at Lockleys North.
