Digital Footprint
As parents and teachers, we cannot afford to underestimate the impact of technology on our children. Whilst we embrace technology and use technology as an important tool for learning, we also believe that our students need to be responsible and safe digital citizens.
A digital footprint is the collection of all traces that we leave in electronic environments as we move through them. Some content we actively volunteer and other material is passive.
However, all of this data can be used to build a profile of each of us. For this reason, it is very important that girls do not post anything online that they may find embarrassing later. It may be a timely reminder to check your daughter’s privacy settings on social networking sites so that only friends can see personal information.
Please remember that when we engage in online activities a trail of information is left behind. Please continue to have conversations with your daughters about the impact of their digital footprint, reminding them, that a digital footprint can be either positive or negative in the future.
Athletics Carnival
A reminder that an event has been posted to compass that requires your approval. We are very excited that track works are largely complete and we are able to hold our College Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 6 September.
Additional event details:
Procedures for leaving the College early.
There appears to be some confusion as to who is allowed to leave the College on their own. No girl under the age of 16 is allowed to leave the College on their own. Students who are under the age of 16 must be picked up by a parent, guardian or emergency contact, listed on Compass. If another person is to collect your daughter, we ask parents/guardians to please email the College and advise the College of the person’s full name so that we can add this contact to Compass.
Upcoming dates:
A notice will be posted on Compass to inform you when bookings open.
Monday 10 October (2:00 - 7:00) via zoom.
On this day, we will have an early dismissal and classes will conclude at the end of P4.
