 Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's Primary School,

Christmas concerts don't happen without careful planning and rehearsal and I would like to take the opportunity to once again thank the staff, led by  Jacqueline Bishop, in enabling ours to happen.

Standing at the front of our school hall last night, with the children beside me and so many members of our school community in front of me, I felt so blessed. Upon my appointment as principal at St Therese's I was advised that I was going to be part of a very special community. I have felt this on many occasions during my short time with you but not quite as strongly as I did last night. Thank you for joining us for our picnic, it was lovely to see so many of you enjoying each others company and to be able to provide an opportunity for the children to socialise out of school hours. Thank you for filling our hall to watch the children present the story of the Nativity. It really was standing room only, we couldn't have fitted any one else in there. Thank you for celebrating with us as the end of the year draws closer. It gives us hope that the hardest of Covid times are behind us and we can look forward to many more occasions like this next year.

Transition Morning

On Friday, the students in grades prep to 5 will learn who their teacher is for 2023. I know many of them are excited and are making guesses based on the staffing structure I shared in the newsletter. Some children will be nervous, getting to know a new teacher is daunting. Please take some time to reassure your child/ren that the class placements have been done with everyone's best interests at heart. They may not be placed with all of their best friends or the teacher they would prefer but all decisions have been made carefully to set up every child for success next year.

Colour Run

Student participating in the colour run are encouraged to where a white or light t-shirt. All students may wear coloured clothes on the last day of term. We also encourage students to wear sunglasses, goggles or some form of protective eye wear during the colour run. They may also wish to wear a mask to prevent excess breathing in of the colour dust.

Canteen News

Just a friendly reminder that the canteen is closed for the remainder of the year. Orders cannot be made for Mondays or Wednesdays for the remainder of the year. If your child/ren have regular lunch orders please ensure they have lunch on these days.

Prayerful moment

I invite you to take a few moments and reflect on your advent journey. Are you preparing the way of the Lord?

Prepare the way of the Lord;

Make a path for our God in the desert.

Every valley shall be lifted up;

Every mountain and hill be brought low.

The crooked ways shall become straight;

The rough places shall become smooth.

The glory of the Lord will be revealed;

And all people will see it together.

This is the promise of the Lord;

And God's promise will be fulfilled.

Amen

Have a great week,

Felicity Broughton
