Robotics Workshop

Exciting technology workshop!

On Thursday 7 September and Friday 8 September, SoftBank Robotics China provided our students with the fantastic opportunity to learn, program and control a humanoid robot named NAO. Each session ran for two and a half hours and was provided free of charge by the company to students from years 7 to 12.

A big thank you to Mr Miller and Ms Cheah who initiated and built up a working relationship with the company.  We are the first school in NSW to have worked directly with such high-end technology and we are very thankful for the opportunity.

Students really enjoy the experience, learning programming skills to make the Robot talk, walk, sit and hold objects.  We are sure it was an eye- opener for them and a reminder of what the not too distant future holds.

Students from the Special Education unit came and visited the workshop.  It was wonderful to see how thrilled they were to meet to NAO.
