Founder's Day

We were able to celebrate a day as a whole school community supporting good mental health. Our day featured input by athlete, media personality and Beyond Blue director Johanna Griggs who provided insight regarding the need for positive mental health. She spoke candidly about her sporting career and battle with chronic fatigue syndrome. Also of note was her entry into the world of sport commentary. Johanna spoke with passion about how young men need to be mindful of their own and their peers mental health and that we all have a part to play in supporting the mental health of those in our community.

Following the presentation, as a community, the students combined to set a new world record for the most number of students tying their shoelaces in a formation. A drone provided brilliant footage of the student body spelling out SPX on Chaplin Oval. A few friendly games preceded lunch, before we all sat in the CBC for an afternoon of entertainment provided by: students, staff and our guests from St. Edmund’s at Wahroonga.

Our day provided the ability for the College to continue its vital support of many communities who rely upon us for our generous support for their work.

A huge thank you to the many parent volunteers and staff whose efforts made the day a worthwhile event.

Year 10 Immersions

Currently we have a number of Year 10 students participating in immersion experiences across NSW. We have students working at: St Edmund’s Wahroonga, St Gabriel’s Castle Hill, the Central Coast and in Walgett. Unfortunately the bush fire crisis meant that our Bowraville immersion had to combine with our Central Coast immersion. All gifts from the giving tree will be driven to Bowraville at the conclusion of lessons for the year. Keep an eye on next week's Woodchatta for reports and photos.
