Visual and Performing Arts
Term 3 has started with a bang for the Visual and Performing Arts!
Wednesday 2nd August was Twilight Evening. While a great chance for any future visual or performing arts students to scope out subjects, the event also gave our amazing teachers and some of our students a chance to share their efforts so far for 2017. A big thank you to all the students and teachers who donated their time and energy to share their passion for the arts.

The Visual and Performing Arts team would also like to acknowledge that this is a stressful and busy time of the year for our students with multiple folio and final product deadlines looming. We encourage parents to keep an eye on PAM for any due dates.
Music:
On Thursday 10th August, the music students put on a great lunchtime concert, which despite some technical difficulties was a great show.
On Thursday 17th August, the VCE VET Music Students headed down to Wrangler Studios in Footscray for their Band Showcase. The event was a big success and the students should be congratulated on a fantastic effort!
Dance:
Thursday 10th August was the night the VCE VET Dance students presented their solo routines in full costume. It was a fantastic night, enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to the VCE VET class and Amanda Matas for their hard work! A special shout out to the tech team who helped the performers by making sure the night ran smoothly.
Talent Quest:
The final line up has been chosen, and rehearsals are well underway for what promises to be an exciting display of the talent at CRC Sydenham.

Talent Quest takes place Friday September 1st at 2pm.
Media:
The Media department are starting to organise the second annual CRC Sydenham Film Night. Whilst the films will be shown, the night as a whole will showcase all of the Media students’ work. This includes some amazingly well designed and executed print pieces as well.
Film night will take place on September 11th, at 6m in the Crate Theatre. Entry is $5, and there will be some snacks available for purchase.
Upcoming Events:
Thursday August 24th: The Year 12 Solo Music students are strutting their stuff at 6pm in the Crate Theatre. Featuring the musical styling of Brittney FitzGerald, Chelsey Borg, Karina Levchenkova, Carine Taylor, Mary Ngoma and Joseph Corio this will be a highly entertaining evening. Gold Coin donation for entry.
Monday September 11th: Media Film and Showcase night. 6pm in the Create Theatre. Prepare to be dazzled by the efforts of the Media students!
Wednesday September 14th: The Dance Showcase Evening will take place in the Crate Theatre. This night is the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work with the VET Dance students presenting their second solo and group routines in a myriad of styles and routines ranging from jazz to street and everything in between. Tickets for this event are available from the Personal Development office or from VET Dance Students.
Wednesday September 20th: The Year 1 Music Concert in the Crate Theatre. After the success of the Term 2 showcase, this promises to be a great evening. Stay tuned for more details closer to the event.
