Saturday 10 November:  I was really pleased with the overall atmosphere at Oxford Falls last Saturday. It was a tough contest for us with all games against Oakhill teams. Good sportsmanship was shown by both schools and at times both teams offered a hand to lift players up after a fall. The Firsts match was a standout, with a big crowd from both schools cheering positively as the teams traded baskets. The game was even at full time and Oakhill got the better of us in overtime. Thanks to everyone for the positive support. It certainly lifted our team.  Thanks again to everyone who worked on the score bench. We had some intense matches to score.

Swimming

Senior Swimming Squad:  Last Friday night the St Patrick's Invitational Carnival was held at Ryde Aquatic Centre. The boys swam really well again, coming away with a 5th place in the Junior and Intermediate divisions, 6th in the Seniors and 5th overall.

The squad has done a great job this term and I am looking forward to the 2019 season starting with our Annual School Carnival where the 2019 squad will be selected.

Training continues Monday and Tuesday until 26 November.

Summer Tennis – Round 4

A feature this week was to have so many St Pius Teams playing each other across the Divisions. At Talus Street - Teams 5 and 25 had straight set wins – well done to those teams. Other wins at Talus included Teams: 1, 8, 11, 20, 22, 23, 27, 28 and 29 – great efforts here too.

We keenly await the result cards coming in from away games against Redlands and Reddam this Round.

What was also really impressive were the matches where our players were sometimes down 0-5 or 0-3 and came back to win their single sets – congratulations on staying positive and focused. There have been many school events like camps and exams to keep the students very busy and this week we move towards Year 7 and 8 Exam Days. Well done on the organisation of all players and the support of our tennis parents to get to the right venues to ensure a smooth day on Saturday.

Results will be updated each week. Players and parents are encouraged to keep checking the XPoint weblink in notes sent home already, and on tennis emails from earlier this term, to confirm accuracy of results so far.

Look forwarding to Round 5 next Saturday 17/11/18 – with Finals the weekend following – 24th November.
