Doctors in Schools

Melton Secondary College is pleased to inform our college community that the Victorian Governments Doctors in Schools initiative will commence early next term. An adolescent health trained GP will be available at our school each Tuesday to provide medical advice and health care to our students. The GP will be supported by a registered nurse and the schools Wellbeing Coordinator, Amanda Xavier. Melton Secondary College students and their parents/guardians/carers will not incur any out-of-pocket expenses for consultations with the GP. Appointments will be made through the Student Wellbeing Team.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • make primary health care more accessible to students
  • provide assistance to young people to identify and address any health problems early
  • aim to reduce the pressure on working parents and community-based GPs.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the Student Wellbeing Team.
