Duke of Edinburgh

On May 25th, our Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh students set off for the Surf Coast to complete the Adventurous Journey aspect of their Bronze Awards.

The trip involved the students hiking a 25km stretch of the beautiful and world famous Surf Coast Walk between Bells Beach and the town of Aireys Inlet with an overnight camp made in Anglesea.

The trip was challenging, but extremely rewarding for all students, who represented the school extremely well and learnt a lot about their ability to complete such a task.

The students are nearing the end of their Duke of Edinburgh journeys, with only one volunteering day to come when we are again linking up with the Pinkerton Landcare and Environment Group to plant trees at the Pinkerton Link site.

The program will run again in Semester Two, with a new group of students, who are no doubt excited to get stuck into everything the course involves!
