Junior Boarding
The Junior Girls area has had an excellent start the year, enhanced by the lovely new year 7 girls who have joined Mount Erin Boarding.
The incoming Year 7 students enjoyed their first sleepover of the year, which provided each boarder with a snapshot of life at Mount Erin. As well, the sleepover provided an opportunity for the girls to meet and share some time to get to know each other. The group enjoyed sitting together and asking lots of questions amid fun and laughter.
On the first night of boarding the girls were feeling more comfortable with one another and enjoyed played some games together with Majella Day teaching Madeleine Clancy how to play pool before supper.
On the first morning of the new school year the girls were up early at 6.00am to prepare for the day and excited for their first day at Kildare or Mater Dei Catholic Colleges.
Year 7 girls Tara, Evie, Celest and Mia have helped staff to put up birthday reminders on the walls around the Junior Girls' area. The Year 7 girls worked together to make each birthday reminder so that everyone's special celebration day could be captured. during the year.
A small group of boarders return on Sunday evenings and this group of Junior Girls take advantage of the time to relax together with good music and some games. Pool is a popular choice and Laura Porter and Kaitlynn Daly have some great skills on display.
Both Colleges held their Swimming Carnivals recently. Congratulations to Niane Mulder who swam very well in the Mater Dei Carnival and achieved Runner Up Age Champion for Year 8.
The Junior Girls enjoy the wide variety of meals at Mount Erin, especially the hot breakfast on Friday mornings. Pancakes are one of the popular options available.
The Year 7 girls were delighted to have a visit from Teddy after study time (Robin's puppy) and enjoyed some much needed furry fun.
