Mission

Lent is a time of prayerful preparation for the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. Traditionally Lent has been a time of fasting or going without something we enjoy. It is our wilderness time and calls for a change of mind and heart. We are called to widen our horizons and reset our priorities. We are called to do things differently. Doing something different can make us rethink, re-establish, who we are with God, who we are with others, who we are within ourselves.

Lent has three pillars, Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. How could you incorporate these pillars into your life this Lenten season?

Project Compassion

“Be More” Starting on Ash Wednesday, 17 February, Project Compassion will share stories from people in Bangladesh, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, Indonesia and Australia. These stories will be shared in Homegroup and our community will have the opportunity to donate to this cause through the Homegroup challenge, in which Homegroups challenge each other with their fundraising efforts.

Year 7 Reflection Day

Next Friday 26 February, Year 7 will share in a day of personal development and community building within a Catholic faith context. Engaging activities and personal testimony will be shared by Az Hamilton from Just Motivation.

Students may wear modest, appropriate casual clothing on the day, along with enclosed footwear. Morning tea, consisting of cupcakes and fruit will be provided. Further information is available for parents/carers via the recent Compass notification. We look forward to a wonderful day of reflection together!

College Opening Mass

Our College Opening Mass was held on Tuesday 9th February. New 2021 Captains were presented with their badges at the Mass. The Mass was live streamed for family and friends and the theme of the Mass was ‘Stand Firm in Faith’.

O Generous God,

transform us in these Lenten days,

that we may be gifts of love to one another.

For there is enough for all.

Enough food.

Enough money.

Love overflowing.

AMEN.
