Positively Parenting Presentation 

with Michael Grose

Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

We enthusiastically invite you to attend a "Positively Parenting" Live presentation which  will be hosted by Mr Michael Grose. 

 

Michael Grose, founder of Parenting Ideas, is one of Australia’s leading parenting educators. He’s an award-winning speaker and the author of 12 books for parents including Spoonfed Generation, and the bestselling Why First Borns Rule the World and Last Borns Want to Change It. Michael is a former teacher with 15 years’ experience, and has 30 years’ experience in parenting education. He also holds a Master of Educational Studies from Monash University specialising in parenting education.

 

This is a FREE ticketed event for our school community. Due to current government regulations and social distancing restrictions we only have 200 tickets available (1 ticket per household). The session will also be live streamed via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person and or secure a ticket.

Ticket allocation will be available from 12:00pm on Thursday 25th February until 12:00pm on Wednesday 24th March 2021 (unless allocation exhausted prior)

 

 

Purpose

  • Provide an overview of parenting today including some of the issue's parents face such as wrestling with digital technology.
  • Discuss the importance of independence-building; what that looks like at home and at school.
  • Discuss the importance of resilience & psychological flexibility linked to future success and well-being.
  • Introduce the concept of authoritative parenting (firmness + nurturance) using the Cat and Dog metaphor.
