PERFORMING ARTS

As we head towards the end of the semester, it is fantastic to reflect on the amazing progress that the students have made in pursuing their performance capabilities.  I am so proud of the work that the students have undertaken, both individually and as part of the many ensembles and casts. This last fortnight all performing arts students have delivered solos, small and large group pieces, and have demonstrated their developing skills.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Congratulations to Arianne Lindsay (Year 12) for her rendition of the National Anthem at the General Assembly on Wednesday 23 June. Congratulations and thank you also to the Orchestra and Ms Tracy Videon who accompanied her, and who performed the opening musical item. It is always fantastic to hear the orchestra playing.

JUNIOR CONCERT

On Thursday 24 June the students in Years 7-9 took part in the first Junior Concert in 18 months! Whilst it was disappointing that we were unable to have a live audience, it was terrific that the kids had the opportunity to perform, be recorded and for that performance to be sent home. To hear the standard of the students after a tumultuous time within the performing arts industry, is highly exciting.  We look forward to eventually bringing you performances in person!

CHICAGO

Rehearsals are still continuing to take place and the level of excitement is building. The kids are definitely increasing their confidence in acting, singing and dancing. Ticket sales will be announced soon for the performances that will be held in the 3rd week of Term 3.

REMINDER: COLLECT INSTRUMENTS AT END OF TERM

A reminder to all INSTRUMENTAL music students that they should take their instrument home over the break so that they can continue to build their technique and capacity. The Music Centre will be open until about 4pm for students to come and collect their instruments.
