Covid-19 Vaccination

Late last month , National Cabinet announce that the Covid-19 vaccination of residential aged care workers will become mandatory by 17 September 2021 meaning you must have received at least your first dose by this time.

I am are still waiting for more details on what exemptions if any will be permitted under the new mandate and will inform you when these details come to hand.

I also welcome the news that vaccine supply issues are being addressed and the announcement that residential aged care workers will be able to access the Pfizer vaccine as a priority.

You can access priority doses of the Pfizer vaccine by:

  • Booking an appointment at Echuca Regional Health  www.erh.org.au/covid-19-vaccinations
  • ALL residential aged care workers, irrespective of their age, are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
  • You must have received at least one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine by 17 September 2021.
  • There is significant misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines available online and in the community.  Understandably, this is a key cause for vaccine-hesitancy amongst a variety of people.  Credible information is essential to countering misinformation with the facts.
  • Please read the attached Find out the facts about COVID-19 vaccines.

We all need to ensure that as many Australians as possible are vaccinated as this offers the greatest protection not only to our residents but also to all of your families and you individually.

Finally, I would like to extend my thanks to you as we continue to keep everyone safe and well during this pandemic. Without doubt, it has been a long 18 months with many ups and downs along the way.

I am constantly amazed and heartened by the care, compassion, understanding and most importantly resilience shown by you all.

Regards
