SPORTS REPORT. HUGHESY’S WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS

Unfortunately the wide world of sport is currently very, very narrow. As you would be aware all of our swimming has been postponed until term four for year four and five. We will send out information as it becomes more apparent as to what and when.

For our gifted cross country runners the state finals have been postponed indefinitely. This event has over six hundred competitors plus many organisers etc. so it will be some time before running this event will be viable.

The senior netball and AFL football events have also been postponed with a hopeful date of late August.

OGPS athletics have been put out until  the 10th August. If we are not able to have that event that will also put the inter school event scheduled for the 17th  August at risk. We need to assume these events will be going ahead and therefore notes will be coming out for our school event.

Please Note: Due to COVID restrictions unfortunately spectators WILL NOT be able to attend.

Please contact the school office 5255 1340 if you are able to assist with helping on the day. E.g Timing, measuring, marshallingand overseeing events.

Because we can’t have events it makes it much more important for us to utilize PE classes and outside school time to keep ourselves fit and healthy. Most of you will be aware that I have enrolled the school in a virtual statewide cross country event. This will be fun and at the same time keep you in a fit and healthy state.

In the meantime I look forward to seeing you all back at school, having a haircut and having as much fun as we can playing sports.

Cheers Hughesy.
