BIG SCIENCE COMPETITION (BSC) 2021

Last term, 57 students across years 7 to 10 nominated to compete in the Big Science Competition (BSC).

The competition is a national event run by Australian Science Innovations. Competing students sat a 50 minute test consisting  of  multiple choice questions,  testing their science knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Questions were set in a real-life context making them relatable to the students skills and knowledge.

EMC staff were extremely pleased with our students focus during the exam and their results.

It is with great excitement that we announce EMC had 5 students (Thomas Goode, Louis Hall, Ethan Reeves, Jay Sucher and Nina Sharp) receive a high distinction and 9 students (Eesun Chia, Asher Browne, Alexandra Humphrey, Callan Kilby, Gus Morrison, Xavier Nejasmic, Oscar Dawes, Owen Ellis and Josh Spruyt) receive a distinction.

These students have now been invited to compete for the upcoming Science Olympiads exam which is an international competition.
