THRIVE

The Elisabeth Murdoch College ‘Women’s Afternoon Team’ is an event which will be attended by approximately 70 students (and their mothers/female guardians) from our three feeder primary schools (Langwarrin Primary School, Woodlands Primary School, Langwarrin Park Primary School).

On Thursday 5 August 2021 at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This afternoon event, held at the beautiful McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery, encourages women of all ages to come together and listen to keynote speakers tell their stories of success; share in good company and last, but not least, indulge in an afternoon tea hosted by the school.

Our speakers include athletes, doctors, lawyers and leaders in STEM and community service.

This initiative focuses on pushing forward the concept of THRIVE – allowing opportunity for our students to understand the importance of trying their best, being healthy, relating well to others, living their values and enjoying positive emotions. The central objective of this event is to encourage our your students to see first-hand resilience, learning, connection and empowerment.

A chartered bus will be departing from EMC at 12.30pm on the day if transport is required

Be HEALTHY

During times of COVID-19 restrictions, when families often spend more time at home and many students are learning remotely, it is important for students to remain active and moving.

The Active Schools initiative aims to ensure that all Victorian students have the skills, confidence and motivation to be active for life.

Whether it be indoors, in the backyard or the local park, students should spend 15 minutes, four times a day getting active.

There are many benefits to being active, including improved wellbeing and concentration.

Get Active Victoria has a range of activities families can do at home to stay active, including:

  • COVIDSafe activities, such as pilates and chair exercises
  • physical challenges, such as juggling and hula hooping
  • dance classes.
